No points were awarded for last week's prompt.

This week's prompt is #20 - Boot Camp/Training

We want to see the early days of training, the hardships of boot camp and who is on the backside of the learning curve.

Is Zack a regular prankster in the barracks? Did Cloud get hazed? Is Tifa training for herself, her father, or something else? Is Yuffie tired of being teased by the others for her motion sickness? How, exactly, does one train to be a Turk? Is Cid a self-taught rocket man, or is there a program for that? How did Genesis handle sharing sleeping quarters during boot camp?

Whether it is tasting the food for the first time, an ass kicking 20 mile hike, or incredible homesickness, write boot camp or some other training session into just 100 words.

(Sorry for the delay, guys, I've been sick and my brain is mush.)

Title: There’s Always One in Every Group
Characters/Pairings: Tseng
Rating/Type: G
Team: Turks
Word Count: 100
Prompt: #20 - Boot Camp/Training

The new recruits in the Turks were a typical lot. Fresh faced kids juggling rookie assignments while studying for correspondence degrees in criminal psychology or electronics offered from regional colleges.

Every cohort had its ambitious one. In this group it was Tseng. He handled his investigatory assignments with an air of professionalism in between his Shinra-sponsored course load at Midgar University. Double majored in biology and business administration. Even made dean’s list. At HQ he received cushy assignments in the biological lab, recruiting or guarding specimens. This didn’t make Tseng any friends. He was destined to become their manager.

Title: Lucrecia Crescent, Ph.D.
Characters/Pairings: Lucrecia
Rating/Type: G
Team: Turks
Word Count: 100
Prompt: #20 - Boot Camp/Training

Lucrecia’s C.V. made the best of her wandering career. The date listed for receipt of her undergraduate honors degree in biology obscured the seven and half years that passed after she first enrolled in her university. She listed lab positions she had held without stating that the positions were part-time. And the only indication she switched Ph.D. advisors thrice was hidden within the names of co-authors on her published papers.

But she was Lucrecia Crescent, Ph.D., Cellular and Molecular Genetics, Midgard University (1974), never mind that her thesis adviser’s work had drifted far from conventionally accepted molecular genetics.
