The hazardous path to the sleeping prince

Cloud’s weight is heavy as Zack edges out of the lab, towards the basement. 

He lets Cloud slide to the floor as he leans in the darkness. He is too tired to do anything as his elbow catches the lid of a coffin and he glimpses inside. The man is breathing, and his rigid pose reminds Zack of a sleeping guardian, to be awakened to help heroes. The man’s beauty is of a sleeping prince, to be awakened with a kiss.

 Zack reaches to touch; whichever he may turn out to be, they need all the help they can gather.
