Unexpected/Don't Judge a Book.../Not a Pretty Sight/Murphy is.../First Time Out
Title: Unexpected
Pairing: Rufus/Reno
Team: Turks
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: Because I love torturing my museboy.
I ached so much when I woke up. It hurt to open my eyelids, to breathe, to swallow. I was cold but hot at the same time. Whatever was covering me felt like sandpaper. My nose was completely clogged and my mouth was bone dry.
It took a few tries, but I finally managed to pry my eyes open.
"Reno? You awake?"
That explained the extra weight on one side.
"Bossman, what...?" I don't think I could really call that a voice.
His arms tightened around me. "You idiot! Why the hell didn't you tell me you weren't feeling well?"
Title: Don't Judge a Book By its Cover
Characters: Reno
Team: Turks
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: Yeah, I really like torturing my museboy.
Looking at him, you'd think he was just lazy. You couldn't be farther from the truth, at least where work was concerned. It was all an act. He'd found that people underestimated him that way, which was an asset. He knew how to party, but he knew partying couldn't interfere with the job.
When he called in sick on a Monday morning, while an outsider would've thought he was really calling in hungover, Tseng believed him without question.
His trust in his second was proven well placed when Reno set the phone aside to cover a drawn out sneezing fit.
Title: Not a Pretty Sight
Characters: Reno
Team: Turks
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: Have I mentioned that I like torturing my museboy? ;)
Reno looked pitiful. It was pretty obvious that he should have stayed home, and, had he not drugged himself entirely too well that morning, Tseng would have sent him away within minutes of his arrival. He'd been quieter than usual, but not enough to alarm the others.
The meds had worn off a while ago though, allowing his congestion to return and his temperature to rise unchecked. Tseng'd ordered him to lie down on the couch and rest a little. His rubbed-raw nose and fever-flushed cheeks, both closer to red than pink at this point, clashed horribly with his tattoos.
Title: Murphy is Alive and Well...
Characters: Reno
Team: Turks
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: Have I mentioned that I like torturing my museboy a lot? O:) I'm just thankful at this point that he hasn't hurt me for it.
Bossman'd told me about this weeks ago. My favorite job, yo; get paraded around on Rufus' arm like a trophy wife, keep the bad guys away.
Next day I started planning: spray my handkerchief with Elena's perfume to set off my allergies, wear one of those heating pads under my jacket to raise my body temp, pull an all-nighter so I look like shit. Rufus wouldn't make me go if I was sick, yo. Perfect plan.
"hk'TSHUHH! hhh...ETSHHUH! Nnnnnh..."
I didn't plan on Fate, or whatever you want to call it, deciding that I shouldn't have to fake it.
Title: First Time Out
Characters: Elena and Rude
Team: Turks
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: The girl needs some loving...erm...torturing too, I guess...
She hadn't slept in the two days since she'd been given this assignment. Her first time in the field as a full-fledged Turk. She wanted to make Tseng proud.
She paced for an hour before they left. As they flew out, Rude watched her closely through his sunglasses, noticing faint tremors that indicated too much caffeine ingested and shadows under her eyes that hinted at her exhaustion.
On their return, the tremors were from fever chills instead of caffeine, and she spent the return flight resting against Rude's shoulder, handkerchief pressed under her nose, her sempai's jacket wrapped around her.
