"I'm not asking," Genesis shot back, his eyes narrowing. "I'm telling."

"And I'm telling you no," Angeal said, feeling his own eyes narrow in response.

"I can't stay here. You swore you wouldn't leave me alone again. But here you are," he let out, and wrapped his arms around himself. "You're like everyone. I thought you car--fuck."

Angeal felt the words like a slap, and his shoulders slumped.

Reeve sighed at his desk, fingers massaging his forehead. "It's called blackmail," he answered. "She didn't have to do anything wrong. She doesn't have to understand it. The point is that Barret does. It's not about her, you see. It's about him."

He didn't like having to explain this to Cait. He hadn't built Cait to know about this aspect of human nature. And the cat was definitely having trouble with it. "We're not going to hurt her, are we?"

"Not if Barret gives us a choice."

Prompt #15 - Blackmail

No points were awarded last week.

The prompt this week is #15 - Blackmail.

Ah, blackmail - the art of making some poor sap pay money by threatening to reveal something nasty about them (or just something unpleasant they don't want anyone to know about).

Would ShinRa pay someone to keep "hush hush" about certain things? Would Hojo even care? Maybe Hojo is the blackmailer for his own ambition? Are there some photographs of Cloud that he just doesn't want the guys to see? What if Sephiroth isn't quite the SOLDIER that everyone thinks he is! *gasp* What if it reaches the news media?! *scream*

Whatever the blackmail, no matter who the target or who is doing the targeting, you must write it in 100 words!

Photos. Everywhere. Drawers, walls, boxes under her bed.
Reno can't find an inch of Cissnei's bedroom that isn't covered in them.
So, of course, when she comes back from her meeting that night, Reno's sprawled on her couch, feet proped up on her coffee table. Typical Reno.

A box of pictures under her nose.
Eyes widen. Turk-ish panic.

"So, Cissy, how you gonna pay for this to stay 'tween you and me?"

A look at the box. A wince.

"How much?"
"Aww, you really think that of me? I don't want no money, yo!"

That grin...
Shiva. She's doomed.
