Just when Elmyra succumbed to sleep, the faint ringing of her PHS snapped her awake.
She was tempted to ignore it; anyone who called her at this hour probably confused her number with someone else’s.
Still… it could be an emergency.
Oddly enough, there wasn’t a number written on the screen -- merely an alert that someone was calling. Confused but curious, she accepted the call, only to hear haunting echoes and chilling whispers.
Incredibly bewildered, Elmyra was about to hang up, but then a painfully familiar voice broke through all the noise with warm cheer, “How have you been, Mom?”
