Whatever Zack expected when he died, this was not it.

The area around him was open, green country. Not something he had seen since they got close to Midgar. Though it still had monsters.

It was humanoid, with a bony white face and a hole through the center of the chest. At first it didn’t see him, then the head turned and looked at him. The thing roared, a strange, echoing sound. Then charged.

Seems even dead, things were trying to kill him. Zack just grinned and pulled the familiar weight of Buster off his back. This, he could handle.

Maybe Sephiroth is dodging accusations of mass murder with the help of Jessica Fletcher, or Yuffie's letting a blond amnesiac teach her how to play blitzball. Of course, the inhabitants of FFVII's Gaia have barely achieved spaceflight, putting them under the protection of the Prime Directive - which almost guarantees Captain Kirk and company will be getting up to some hijinks on the planet's surface, doesn't it? ;) (Pls note that the line between crossover and AU can be blurry, but I won't be judging too harshly on that point. ;) )

“Genesis,” said Angeal Hewley, “What did you do?”

Genesis glanced at the younger ones and watched his words. “Well, you know, it’s good luck if you…”

“If you blow them a kiss, Genesis,” Angeal Hewley finished.

“Oooooh.”

Sephiroth is Shinra’s great General, the Black-Jeweled Warlord Prince whose name alone strikes fear in the hearts of those who might cross Shinra--- and whose sword strikes considerably more.

And the first time he hears the voice of the little country mite of a girl, the landlord’s daughter who will be their guide to the reactor--- the little slip of a thing with a fighter’s stance and hands that have known combat, the young Queen who still wears her Birthright Green Jewel--- he knows.

Tifa Lockhart is the Queen he serves.

After that, Jenova doesn’t stand a chance with him.

Author's Notes: This is a crossover with the Black Jewels novels; I rated it PG because if you go searching for Black Jewels canon out of curiosity... well. Some of the things that happen in that 'verse would give Hojo a moment's pause. (Some of them are also adorable and cuddly and fun.)

At first Unicron mistook it for another bit of flotsam dragged into His orbit, and ignored it. Then it landed on His surface, and - spoke.

What a richness/treasure/feast is here. You will be mine, wanderer.

Unicron's laugh, amusement and contempt, echoed soundlessly through the void. You think to consume Me? You are nothing to Me.

Not for long.

Only now Unicron felt it: a twisting infection, subverting His systems to an alien, organic intelligence. With a roar, Unicron jettisoned the infected part of Himself, letting the organism consume what little it had gotten of the God of Chaos.

A/N: dual-action crossover time!

Vincent debated whether he should add more locks to the door, or to the coffin itself. For whatever reason, he seemed to be attracting tourists.

First he had to convince a pair of plumbers that the mansion wasn’t really haunted, it was just the lair of a particularly mad scientist. The look on their faces when they realized the ghosts were in the mako was priceless.

Later that same week, a jock, a princess, a geek, a stoner, and a big, smelly, almost-talking dog barged in, apparently following the other guys in search of ghosts.

He sicced them on Hojo.

“And he was going to keep at it until he created the perfect monster,” the athletic youth chimed in.

“I created the ultimate soldier, a god!” Hojo spat, writhing in the grasp of two burly mountaineers. “It was perfect! It just needed a little more time. I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids…”
