At first Unicron mistook it for another bit of flotsam dragged into His orbit, and ignored it. Then it landed on His surface, and - spoke.
What a richness/treasure/feast is here. You will be mine, wanderer.
Unicron's laugh, amusement and contempt, echoed soundlessly through the void. You think to consume Me? You are nothing to Me.
Not for long.
Only now Unicron felt it: a twisting infection, subverting His systems to an alien, organic intelligence. With a roar, Unicron jettisoned the infected part of Himself, letting the organism consume what little it had gotten of the God of Chaos.

"Your objection is noted," Megatron snapped. "Professor," his voice slipped easily from his usual harshness to an oilier tone, "continue."
The human, cast in an eerie light from his machine, failed to look impressed. "The Jenova Mechanism," he lectured, "is capable of enhancing the capabilities of both carbon- and silicon-based life forms, in theory."
"Theory!" Starscream squawked.
"Since no sapient silicon-based life forms exist on Earth, that hypothesis is impossible to test." Professor Hojo looked at Megatron fully then, and the light made his eyes reflect green. "Until now."

At the squeak of surprise Optimus freezes. His proximity sensors are quiet, but humans are so fragile...! "I'm sorry, miss," he says to the ginger-haired human standing by his ankle. "I didn't mean to startle you."
Her cheeks turn faintly pink. "I wasn't sure you were real until you moved! You're very... wow."
'Wow' is a reaction he gets a lot. "My name is Optimus Prime," he offers.
"Aeris."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Aeris," Optimus says to her bright smile. "That's a lovely variety of plant life."
"Oh - you mean my flowers! Would you like one...?"
