PROMPT #76 - SACRIFICE

No points were awarded for last week.
This week's prompt is #76 - Sacrifice
As a very wise man once said - no sacrifice, no victory! *dodges bricks*
Fighting the good fight is never easy, and sometimes in order to move forward, something must be left behind. This week, tell us all about characters' sacrifices. Was it all worth it in the end?
Cloud's mental health; Barret's time with Marlene; Cid's dreams of spaceflight were all sacrificed in service of saving the world. Nanaki's father knew the meaning of sacrifice, as did Aerith's mother. Sephiroth wished to make a sacrifice of the planet to Jenova; President Shinra was willing to sacrifice hundreds of lives for his own convenience. Sometimes sacrifices work - just ask Cait Sith mk. I - and sometimes they don't - just ask Vincent and Lucrecia.
Sacrifice a little of your free time this week! But only in 100 words.
