PROMPT #84 - SCIENCE

This week's prompt is #84 - Science
FFVII has always been as much about the science fiction as about the fantasy: you've got alien biology, genetic experimentation, ecology and planet science, astronomy what with the whole 'giant space rock' thing... This week, let's get physical (or chemical, or biological) and do some science!
Shinra seems to have a lock on the whole science thing - after all, they have a whole Science Department, headed by an actual real-life mad scientist. But there are other scientists in the world - see the students of Planet Life in Cosmo Canyon, for example, or the people studying Mako poisoning in Mideel. A budding marine biologist below Junon, or the chocobo breeding specialists in Kalm. Even the people of Rocket Town put their faith in science above all. Science is neither good nor evil - ultimately it's in our hands what effects our innovations have.
