The Turks are the official kings of the witching hour, running away with 10 points and the trophy while Avalanche and SOLDIER are fast asleep.

This week's prompt is #35 - Character's Children

Flash forward into the future and give us a glimpse of the children spawned by our favorite characters.

Does Genesis have a son that won't eat his applesauce?  Do Cloud's children run all over him?  Is Cid's boy the spitting (literally) image of his father?  We all know about Sephiroth's remnants, do they make Jenova proud? Has Hojo's daughter won first place in the science fair? And speaking of Fair, where is daddy's little girl?

Ah yes, show us the joys of having children (along with the tantrums, the messes, the diapers...) in just 100 words.

Series: Core Game

Edge's population was fairly small compared to Midgar's. Orphaned children were common, given the sheer number of people working for Shinra above-plate and the level of devastation the plate's collapse had wreaked.

Common amongst such children were a certain few traits - brown hair. Green eyes. An impish smile.

Hojo had harvested some of Aeris' cells, while she'd been held prisoner and before AVALANCHE had caught up. He'd had just long enough before his death to arrange for fertilisation, for them to be placed safely in artificial wombs as well as surrogate ones. Future experiments.

The children escaped Midgar. Hojo didn't.

Author's Note: Follows "Legacy" below. We're playing drabble ping-pong, apologies in advance. ;)

He didn't think of himself as bad with kids, exactly. He'd done okay with Marlene, hadn't he? It was just that - well, frankly, he hadn't had many good experiences with kids when he was a kid. And then at fourteen he'd joined the army. Not too many toddlers in the army.

So Cloud had no idea what to do when a small herd of toddlers filtered into Aeris's church and made a beeline for him. "Um," he managed to get out, but by then the foremost child had latched onto his knee, grinning up at him with impish green eyes.

Roddy's Mamas were the prettiest ladies in the world. He knew it like he knew the earth under his feet, steady and sure - Roddy's Mamas were the prettiest and nicest Mamas ever, and he didn't want or need a Papa like some of the other kids had. He had everything he could want already. His awake-time Mama had warm brown skin and soft white hair and blue-sky eyes and the gentlest hands ever, and when he went to sleep his other Mama beamed at him and crinkled up her nose just like he did, her green eyes matching his own.

"The DNA samples are incomplete, unfortunately." Reeve politely didn't say due to Meteor. "But what we have is still fairly definitively a match."

Cloud took the printed report Reeve offered him numbly, all his attention on the half-dozen children playing on the carpet. "So, these are... Aeris's children."

Next to him, the white-haired woman whom the only boy called Mama hunched with worry. Reeve noticed a moment before Cloud did, and knelt to speak to her. "Ma'am- I have no intention of taking your son away."

"Others might," the woman whispered, and Cloud felt his protective streak roar to life.

Title: Sharing (Nicely)
Characters/Pairings: OCs
Team: AVALANCHE
Rating: Gen
Word Count: 100
Series: Core Game

It wasn't as though they were alone. Not really alone-alone. As soon as they were old enough to walk they had tumbled about Edge and found each other, joy and recognition sparking the moment they laid eyes on each other (green blue hazel green green). But Roddy (green) was the only one to have a Mama when he was awake, which made the rest of them kind of curious.

Lily, though, Lily had a Papa. She'd found him all by herself, after the confusing green-and-metal world she'd woken up in went away. She considered carefully; maybe they could share.
