"I’m not a vampire," Vincent thought to himself. It wasn’t the first time he’d been called that. Strangers, like the two at the table behind him, often made assumptions about his appearance.
Vincent stood up from the bar and approached them. Their expressions were filled with surprise and guilt.
"You are mistaken," he said, then he turned back to reclaim his seat at the bar.
Suddenly, he saw something that made his mind and heart race with fear. In the mirror behind the bar, he cast no reflection. He covered his mouth with his hand to muffle his inevitable scream.
