NOTES: This is an AU I've played with previously here and here, in which Cloud was born a girl, but was raised as a boy for reasons I don't know but I'm sure made sense to Cloud's mother at the time.
Title: For Her
Characters/Pairings: Cloud, Tifa
Team: Avalanche
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
"I'm going to join Soldier!"
Tifa was wearing a sundress. Cloud was in a stained t-shirt. Cloud wondered, sometimes, what dresses felt like, but she knew she'd only look ridiculous if she tried one. Tifa made dresses look natural.
"Will you be in the papers if you do well?"
Cloud was old enough now that she should have started noticing boys, but Tifa was the only person she liked. Though she was never quite sure if the fluttery feelings were like-like or just desperation for a friend.
"Hey- let's make a promise."
Either way, Cloud would do anything for Tifa.
Title: Battling the Red Dragon
Characters/Pairings: Cloud
Team: Avalanche
Rating: PG, menarche
Word Count: 100
The day before she discovered the bleeding, Cloud found some women's hygiene products stuffed in her locker, behind her gym clothes. Thinking it was another prank, she stuffed them out of sight and told no one. The next morning she was far more grateful for them, once she'd figured out how to use them.
She never discovered who her benefactor was, though the pool of suspects was narrowed down when she was told- in a hushed whisper- that Soldiers could smell when a girl's cycle was about to start. She'd nodded sagely, and wished for a hole to hide in.
Title: Notes, Four Years Later
Characters/Pairings: Hojo
Team: Avalanche
Rating: PG-13, forced pregnancy
Word Count: 100
Specimen Z is everything I hoped for. Resilient, with an affinity for both Mako and J-cells surpassed only by Specimen S. I'm moving on to phase II immediately- or as soon as my useless lab techs get here with the compounds I need.
Specimen C is another story. I had high hopes for her too at first, but she is all but catatonic now. I have no doubt the J-cells are all that is keeping her alive. Still, she has her uses, if only as an empty vessel.
On that subject, ultrasound scans show that Specimen S-2 is progressing nicely.
Title: Just One Little Flaw
Characters/Pairings: Cloud, Tifa, Jenova
Team: Avalanche
Rating: PG, de-pantsing
Word Count: 100
Cloud moved forward, eyes glowing in the dimness of the cavern. "Sephiroth..." she called. "Can you hear me?"
Can you hear me? Tifa's voice, barely audible.
"I know you're here. You want this Black Materia, don't you?"
Cloud, no!
Cloud's lips curled in an unfamiliar smile. "Jenova lied, Sephiroth. I know I'm not a puppet created from Tifa's memories. Because..."
Cloud's free hand, the one not clutching the Materia, pulled her trousers open, revealing nothing but a smooth white curve between her legs.
"...Back then, Tifa didn't know I'm a girl."
Jenova screamed, and Cloud brought the cavern crashing down.
Title: Before the Final Battle
Characters/Pairings: Cloud/Tifa
Team: Avalanche
Rating: PG, implied naked
Word Count: 100
On the airship, Cloud stripped down and explored the body she had reviled and hidden for almost all of her life.
She was a mass of scars. Most of them she didn't remember getting, which was probably a blessing. Here and there were faint reminders of some childhood misadventure. Low on her belly, curving like a ghastly white smile, was the scar Hojo must have given her when he cut her son out of her body.
Gentle hands, scarred at the knuckles, curled around her hips. "Tifa," Cloud whispered.
"Let's get your son back." Tifa kissed her scarred shoulder. "Together."
