Title: Whose Side Are You On, Cloud?
Characters/Pairings: Cloud, Zack, Sephiroth
Rating: G
Team: Avalanche

"Hey, Spike! Take a picture!"
This time Cloud was sure the lieutenant had in fact completely lost his mind. He'd caught Sephiroth in a headlock- bent almost double, his hair tangled under Zack's arm. His eyes met Cloud's, and for a moment Cloud couldn't breathe - he'd never seen the Silver General wearing an expression of anything less than steely dignity, but Sephiroth's face now was nakedly confused, discomfited and lost.
"Strife," the General said, and he seemed to realize how commanding how he didn't sound. "Help."
Cloud felt himself turn red. "S-sorry, sir," he said, and snapped the picture.
Title: Who... Are You...?
Characters/Pairings: Sephiroth, implied Gast & Ifalna
Rating: G

Sephiroth pulled the next journal off the shelf, and something slipped out from between its pages. Despite the fatigue and headache blurring his vision, he caught it.
It was yellowed around the edges, and Sephiroth's breath caught as he recognized one of the people in it- Professor Gast, his arm around a long-haired woman. The woman was smiling at the camera; Gast's smile was all for her. Sephiroth stared harder at her - she seemed so familiar somehow...
Pain, searing hotly behind his eyes. The photograph slipped from his fingers and fell under the shelf, and Sephiroth forgot its existence.
Title: Someone Missing
Characters/Pairings: Tifa, implied Sephiroth & Zack
Rating: G
Team: Avalanche
Word Count: 100
Years later, Tifa took out the photograph Sephiroth had given her.
It shouldn't have existed. It should have burned along with the rest of Nibelheim. Most days she was sure it was a fake, just like the constructs- yet she never got rid of it, and she never showed Cloud.
There was her, fifteen years old and beaming brightly at the camera. There was Sephiroth, expressionless as an ice cliff. Between them: the SOLDIER First, Zack Fair.
Tifa touched the scarred face. Even knowing the truth, she still couldn't shake the surety that Cloud should have been standing there too.
