Title: DaDaDaDa, Da Da DatDaDaaa!
Characters/Pairings: Cid
Rating: G
Team: Avalanche
Word Count: 100
The first and only time the phrase "womens' work" passed Cid's lips, Shera just stared at him mildly. So he found himself, at the ripe old age of thirty-one, figuring out how to mop a kitchen floor.
"Nothin' to it," he muttered as he shoved the chairs around with a damp mop. "If a bubblehead like Shera can do it, right?" The floor gleamed wetly at him. "Cid Highwind: rocketeer, engineer, and master of the monster-slaying mop!"
He twirled the mop over his head. Sudsy water splattered over the walls.
"...oops." Cid dropped the mop and grabbed a tea towel.
Title: Equal To SOLDIERs
Characters/Pairings: Tifa
Rating: G
Team: Avalanche
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: I've said it before and I'll say it again: Martial. Artist. One-punch knockout, not inane slap fights.
Tifa could use claws, but she wasn't a fan. She'd trained as a bare-handed fighter: claws felt heavy and delicate at the same time. Yet she had to use every advantage she could, if she was to keep up with Cloud, and nothing was more important to her. So she used them when she found them.
Her first engine-glove was a revelation. Master Fist hit harder the more she pushed herself. At her weakest she could crack concrete with it. Her own strength, augmented to dizzying heights with Shinra technology: was this how Cloud felt when he lifted his sword?
Title: Cetra's Courage
Characters/Pairings: Aeris
Rating: G
Team: Avalanche
Word Count: 100
Author's Notes: As a 'picked last in gym' kid, is it any wonder I latched onto Aeris?
Next to a SOLDIER, a martial artist, and a gun-armed terrorist, it was easy sometimes to feel like dead weight. Aeris tried her hardest and never complained, but when Cloud told her to hang back and heal or Barret shielded her from attacks with his own body Aeris felt her slum-girl confidence shake.
She learned many things at the Cetra Temple, that there were paths only she could walk, battles only she could fight. She left them the night after Cloud attacked her, Cetra voices in her ear and courage held tight in her hand: a weapon to level mountains.
