10. Unexpected Finale.

Hanging between life and death, Rufus found it odd how the WEAPON’s attack didn’t burn.

After all, the heat of the flames cleared ShinRa’s way to the top. It was with fire ShinRa started wars, punished the weak, and destroyed many hopes and dreams. It was on the ashes that ShinRa covered the truth and built lies.

So how awfully poetic it would be if fire ended ShinRa.

And yet, in the place of flames illuminating their surroundings ever so softly, all Rufus saw was an unforgiving, blinding light.

Cold and swift, it was definitely not the finale he imagined.

...huh. As I was reading this I realized I'd forgotten that Rufus was shown to have died in the game. He's kind of ubiquitous in the fic I read. XD

Anyway, I liked this drabble.

Yeah, I'm thinking of this as happening right before Rufus was saved, so it could be applied to both the OG and AC... I think.
