Midgar is gone.
There's no getting around that, no point in even trying, but it still disorients him. Midgar had been the greatest city, but the ruin of it more accurately reflects its underground, ugly truths.
Nonetheless, Reeve misses it.
He'd helped to build it, starting as an mere architect before his talent had caused him to move up and up the ranks. Maybe he'd have been happier if he'd stayed just an architect.
Now he's tired, but the world needs an architect more than ever and he's the one who has stepped up to the plate. He'll rest later.
