Title: Crimson Cliffs
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Characters: Zack, Cloud, Angeal.
Team: SOLDIER
Prompt: Blood
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 100
It was some time before Zack could pull his gaze away from the wasteland, from the young man who struggled to haul a sword that nearly outweighed him. Zack sighed, then marveled that he still had breath.
“Habit,” Angeal said nearby, reading his thoughts. “As you were in life, so you’ll be in death. As long as it lasts, anyway.”
“I suppose.” Zack stared down at the rain beaten cliff, where even now translucent red still remained. “I left a real mess behind, didn’t I?” he said.
“Yeah,” Angeal rubbed Zack’s back. “But don’t worry. I hear it’s good fertilizer.”
Title: A-B-AB-O
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Characters: Hojo, Sephiroth
Team: SOLDIER
Prompt: Blood
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
There were still some samples left behind from before the damned woman had done her piece. Old, frozen things, but still good for the basics, and basic this was. A little drop from this bottle, a little drop from that, a drop more in neat rows just to double check.
Hojo watched how the blood coagulated, looking almost granular at the bottom of the wells. He compared the rows and checked again. Behind him, the baby squalled.
“Just your luck,” Hojo said, turning around. “If it turned out you were that damned Turk’s spawn, I’d have to start all over.”
Title: Gory Story
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII: AC
Characters: Rude, Denzel, Tifa
Team: SOLDIER
Prompt: Blood
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
“Did they hurt?”
Rude set his beer down. “What?”
“The piercings,” Denzel said. “Did they hurt?”
Like any good Turk and the stoic man he was, Rude was all set to say ‘No’ and maybe tell the kid about some of the more interesting ones. But he caught Tifa’s glare at him over the rim of his glass and knew that if he encouraged the boy in any nonsense, he’d just drunk his last beer in the Seventh Heaven.
“Hurt like hell,” he said. “Worse than getting shot. Bled all over too. This one? I was out for two days.”
Title: Different Storks
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII: AC
Characters: Marlene, Barret
Prompt: Barret
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100
Notes: It doesn't count this week but have another 'Barret' anyway.
“I know where babies come from,” Marlene said.
“You do?” Barret blinked. Maybe Tifa had covered the basics after all.
“Yep.” Marlene tried to tie the doll’s hair up with a pink ribbon.
“Um.” Barret rubbed his head. “You got any questions?” Maybe Tifa had left him to fill in the framework. Real considerate of her. It was probably easier than starting from scratch.
“No, I understand,” Marlene said. “But maybe you should talk to Cloud about it.”
“Cloud?” Barret frowned.
“He keeps trying to make a baby with Reno. I’m not sure he knows it doesn’t work that way.”

on 2011-06-17 12:14 am (UTC)I did like Tifa's effort to keep Denzel from coming home with extra piecings and ink. I wonder whether Reno was as fast off the mark with understanding what the glare meant as Rude was? Or is Reno only getting his drinks if Cloud fetches them these days?

on 2011-06-17 03:38 am (UTC)Reno's own little missteps are nothing next to his tendency to get down to business with the door unlocked. Luckily for him he's actually quite good explaining certain aspects of safety. Saved Tifa some work because Cloud was too red in the face to demonstrate how to open a foil packet.

Great job on these!
