Rufus entered the office to find Reeve staring at a report in utter dejection. "...Do I really want to know?"
"It's Cid," said Reeve, pushing the report across his desk toward Rufus. "He was testing a new rocket. We're not sure what went wrong yet; it may take years for the debris to fall out of orbit."
Rufus paused; he'd never much liked the old codger, but it was still not a good time to ask how steep the investment loss was. "So...Cid died in space?" he asked carefully.
"It would seem he arranged for his own funeral," Reeve agreed.
