It was too much. What he had done, what he had given up for their sake, for hers, came crashing down on her and sent her running from the room. She left him in that bed with his smile and his teasing and his ashen skin.
Cloud approached, trying to be cheery. “How are you feeling?”
“Fantastic.” Zack’s face grew serious under the pain. "Cloud... Aerith is yours in this life. But in every life after this, in every birth, she will be mine. Promise me.”
